Converting Leads to Deals

Lead records within SalesNOW track information about a potential business opportunity with contacts and/or companies. Once a lead has been qualified as an actual business opportunity, it can be converted into a deal and all the information stored on the lead record will be transferred to the new deal record. To convert a lead to a deal, follow these steps:

  1. In the main tab menu highlight the Leads tab and click the trackball

  2. Highlight the lead's name, ABC Manufacturing Lead, for example and click the menu button

  3. Highlight Convert and click the trackball. Click Yes in response to the question Are you sure you'd like to convert this Lead into a Deal?

  4. Notice that the lead record is automatically converted into a deal record and a number of additional fields appear, including: deal stage, probability and close date

  5. Make any changes that you would like to this new deal record

  6. Once you have completed entering all of the data into the record, click Escape to choose one of three options:

    1. Save to save any changes to this new deal record

    2. Discard to not save and additional changes to this new deal record

    3. Cancel to continue working on this new deal record
