Creating New Deals from a Contact

To save time creating a new deal record, it is a good idea to create a deal directly from the contact record. The benefit of this approach is that the system will automatically associate the deal to the contact and if the contact is associated with a company, such as ABC Manufacturing for example, the system will automatically name the deal record as ABC Manufacturing Deal.

To create a deal from a contact record, follow these steps:

  1. In the main tab menu highlight the Contacts tab and click the trackball

  2. Highlight the contact for whom you would like to create the new deal

  3. Click the menu button and select New Deal

  4. Enter the deal's information (as described in Creating New Deals)

  5. Once you have completed entering all of the data into the record, click Escape to choose one of three options:

    1. Save to save this new deal record

    2. Discard to not save this new deal record

    3. Cancel to continue working on this new deal record
