There are three ways to load existing contact and company data into SalesNOW, first by loading contacts from your mobile device or tablet's Address Book (BlackBerry smartphone/PlayBook, Android smartphone/tablet, iPhone , iPad), second by loading contacts from Outlook and third by loading contacts and companies from a spreadsheet import.
Contacts can be loaded into SalesNOW from your BlackBerry Address Book. When BlackBerry Address Book contacts are loaded into SalesNOW, the system will create a new contact record for each contact and if any contact has a company name listed such as ABC Manufacturing for example - the system will also create a new company record for ABC Manufacturing.
And finally, if several contacts have ABC Manufacturing listed in their company field, each contact will automatically be associated to the new ABC Manufacturing company record within SalesNOW.
There are two ways to load data into SalesNOW: select individual contacts directly from the BlackBerry address book or import all contacts from the BlackBerry address book.
A) Select Individual Contacts
You can transfer contacts directly from the BlackBerry address book one by one into SalesNOW. Use this method to load data into SalesNOW if you do not want to load all contacts from your BlackBerry address book and instead wish to load particular contacts.
Open the address book on your BlackBerry. Use the trackwheel to scroll to the contact you wish to add to SalesNOW. Use the trackwheel to click on the contact and display the menu.
From the menu, select "Add to SalesNOW". This will open the SalesNOW application on your BlackBerry, create a new contact record, and copy the information from the BlackBerry address book into the contact record.
Enter in any additional information you wish to capture in SalesNOW. Once completed, click on the trackwheel and select "Save" from the menu.
B) Import All Contacts
SalesNOW makes it easy to load all contacts from your BlackBerry address book. Use this method if all contacts in your BlackBerry address book should be loaded into SalesNOW.
Open the SalesNOW application on your BlackBerry. Once it has opened, click the menu button to access the main menu. Select the "Options" menu item which will open the SalesNOW options screen.
In the options screen, select "Blackberry Integration", then use the trackball to scroll down to the "Import all contacts from my BB" section. Click the "Import" button.
At this time SalesNOW will verify how many addresses you have in your BlackBerry address book and will calculate how long it will take to load all the contacts. You confirm "Yes" to start the load process.
If you have a lot of contacts in your BlackBerry address book, this load process may take some time. You may want to elect to do this process overnight or at some point when you are not using your BlackBerry. 1b. Load Contacts from iPhone Address Book
Contacts can be loaded into SalesNOW from your iPhone Address Book. When iPhone Address Book contacts are loaded into SalesNOW, the system will create a new contact record for each contact and if any contact has a company name listed such as ABC Manufacturing for example - the system will also create a new company record for ABC Manufacturing.
And finally, if several contacts have ABC Manufacturing listed in their company field, each contact will automatically be associated to the new ABC Manufacturing company record within SalesNOW.

If several contacts have ABC Manufacturing listed in their company field, each contact will automatically be associated to the new ABC Manufacturing company record within SalesNOW.SalesNOW makes it easy to load all contacts from your Android address book. Use this method if all contacts in your iPhone address book should be loaded into SalesNOW.
To Import all the contacts in your address book to SalesNOW, simply:
1. Tap Options
2. Tap Android Integration
3. Tap Import all contacts from my Android

SalesNOW makes it easy to load all contacts from your iPad address book. Use this method if all contacts in your iPad address book should be loaded into SalesNOW.

At this time SalesNOW will verify how many addresses you have in your iPad address book and will calculate how long it will take to load all the contacts. Tap OK to start the import process.
SalesNOW also integrates with your Outlook contacts. To use this feature you must first Install SalesNOW Outlook Integration.
To add an Outlook contact to SalesNOW, such as Bob Johnson from Global Manufacturing, highlight Bob within your Outlook contact view and right click the mouse and select Save to SalesNOW. Notice that since Bob's company - Global Manufacturing does not already exist within SalesNOW, the system will automatically create a new Global Manufacturing company record at the same time it creates the contact record for Bob Johnson.
For my second example, I'd like to add another contact - Greg Wilson from International Distributors to SalesNOW. Once again, I highlight Greg within my Outlook contact view and right click the mouse and select Save to SalesNOW. Notice that since Greg's company International Distributors already exist within SalesNOW, when the system creates Greg's new contact record it will automatically associate it to the existing International Distributors company record. However, if I'd like to associate the contact to a different company record I can click the COMPANY box and either add a new company name or select a different existing SalesNOW company with which to associate the contact.
And for my third example, if I'd like to add multiple Outlook contacts to SalesNOW, I can simply highlight the contacts that I want to add to SalesNOW within my Outlook contact view. This can be done in two ways. I can either click on the first contact and then hold down my SHIFT key and click on the last contact that I want to add. This will automatically select all of the contacts in-between. The other approach I can use to select multiple contacts is to hold down the CONTROL key or the CTRL key and click on each individual contact that I would like to add. Once I've highlighted the contacts that I'd like to add, right click the mouse and select Save to SalesNOW. Notice that when you are saving multiple Outlook contacts to SalesNOW, the system will step you through the process with the Saving Contact to SalesNOW wizard. In this example, I have selected 5 contacts to save. At the top of the wizard window I can see that I am currently saving contact 1 of 5. I have four options at this point. I can click Save All which will save all 5 contacts to SalesNOW and automatically associate the contacts to matching companies within SalesNOW or create new companies for where no matching company is found. Or I can click Save and Next which will save each contact individually and then move to the next contact to be saved. I can also click Skip and Next which will NOT save the current contact and move to the next contact. Or I can click Cancel which will cancel the saving process.
Now that I saved a contact record to SalesNOW, notice that when I open that contact record within Outlook it will highlight the fact that the contact has been saved to SalesNOW and it will display the date and time that it was saved. Also, notice that I now have a new Contact view within Outlook called SalesNOW View. This view will display all of your Outlook contacts and those that have been saved to SalesNOW will be checked.
To import contacts and companies into SalesNOW from a spreadsheet:
In the main tab menu or from anywhere within SalesNOW on the Web, click setup at the top right of the screen
Click Data Management
Click Import Contacts and Companies
To begin the import, follow these steps:
A) Download the import template file
The first step in the download process is to download the import template by clicking link. This will download the spreadsheet import template to your computer. Click Open to load the import spreadsheet template.
B) Enter data into the import file
Enter data into the spreadsheet. Keep in mind the following:
The contents in the first row of the import file must remain unaltered
The Owner Email column represents the SalesNOW user's login email to whom you would like the data assigned. If you are to be assigned the data directly, enter your own SalesNOW login email address.
All rows must specify a valid Owner Email, otherwise it will be considered an invalid row of data
All rows must specify a valid Company Name or Contact Last Name, otherwise it will be considered an invalid row of data
Once you have completed entering the data, save the completed spreadsheet to your computer.
c) Upload data into SalesNOW
Click the Browse button next to the Import File box. Select the import file that you just saved during the previous step and then click continue. The system will display an Upload Confirmation window detailing the number of valid records that will be uploaded. If this is correct, click continue, otherwise click cancel. The data will be queued for upload and will be uploaded in a short period of time. To view the status of your import, click on the status link.
